When I was younger, I watched alot of cowboy movies, as one does. They are fun, action-packed, and scored perfectly. So, while writing music, as one does, I asked myself “If I were to write an overture for a western, what would the meodies be? How long would it be? How would I score it?” While on vacation, the musical fragments started coming to me. The first “usable” melody was the action-packed “Dum Dum Dum doobe doobe Dum Dum!” As the piece came along, I decided to add a chorale in the beginning before the action. And after a week, ta-da!
