Description
In November of 2024, Wesley Besancon’s uncle, Joey Besancon, tragically died due to a heart attack. Although this was a heartbreaking moment for the composer, he also saw an oppertunity to write a piece, not just dedicated to the wonderful man Joey Besancon, but to everybody who has lost a family member too early. The simple title, Loss, is an exact explanation of what the piece is. The piece is the best representation of what loosing a loved one feels like. It is calm, yet intense in nature, allowing emotion to be felt on a soft platform. The work achieves it’s power and emotional impact by using uncommon and some atonal chords to give it a sense of unease, even ending on a Gmin11. I hope this piece conveys the emotions I wanted it to, and I hope you sympathize.
